A culinary world tour
Simply reading about where your (soon-to-be) favourite product comes from, is a thing of the past. We'll take you on an interactive, culinary journey.
If you discover a world map instead of products on our homepage, you might have the one or other question mark in your face. Did they give up their dried fruit business, becoming a fancy tech start-up? No worries! We will continue to deliver with great passion our long-keeping foods directly to your doorstep. However, we would like to invite you to learn more about the journey of our products, to make KoRo even more transparent.
To learn exactly what the map is going to display and what you can discover about our products with a single click, here are some instructions for you. Let’s start from the very beginning. What you first encounter is a world map full of circles and lines in different sizes and colours, which all lead to the last stop of all our products before arriving at your home: KoRo’s hometown, Berlin.
From a reversed side, this means that if you trace the lines the other way round, you will end up in the products’ places of origin which are marked by circles. The size of the circles indicates the weight of the products imported since the end of 2018. The larger the circle, the heavier the weight.
However, you should also consider the circles’ colour: the darker the circle, the higher the percentage of KoRo products originating from the respective country. By moving the mouse over the single circles, weight and number of the products imported from there will be displayed. The coloured code corresponds to the categories of the map’s legend and the length of the colours varies according to the imported weight of the respective category.
Give it a try to make the concept more tangible! Move your mouse over the circle on the United States.
At a glance, one can see that we’ve imported a product weight of 110,32 t from there, which includes 26 articles from the categories nuts, dried fruits, accessories, snacks, and cooking ingredients.
In this case, products from the nuts category have the higher weight. A more detailed look is worthwhile, though, as the heaviest is not always equivalent to the majority of products.
From Sri Lanka, for example, we import the most weight of products belonging to the breakfast category, however it’s one product only, our coconut water. From the dried fruit category we import four different products, which altogether weight less than the imported coconut water though.
However, back to the example of the United States, because there is still far more to discover on our culinary world tour. Click on the circle and you will become a real KoRo expert: you can transparently see every single product which we imported from the United States since the end of 2018. The products are listed in descending order by weight of the total quantity of goods ever imported.
You can decide yourself whether you’re only interested in the country’s top products or if you want to have the total number displayed.
From the United States’ example we can see that 14,26 t of cranberries sweetened with pineapple juice were delivered by ship to us. Here too, it is well worth looking at the details since also the small transportation icon is versatile.
If you’re choosing a European country, the goods are most likely transported on the road, and the little icon will change accordingly. Perhaps you’ll find out from what countries we import our goods by air freight?
Or maybe you’d rather check if your favourite product’s origin might be an ideal destination for your next summer holidays?
Or you want to learn, by category, where in the world our products are located?
Then follow the navigation on the world map.
We hope you enjoy the KoRo journey around the world!
